Rosacea

People with rosacea usually have redness of the face with easy flushing and blushing as well as red bumps and pimples. The redness and flushing may be exacerbated by various stimuli including heat, sun exposure, embarrassment, excitement, hot spicy foods, coffee, tea, and alcohol.

The treatment includes topical medications and oral antibiotics that are very effective for the pimples and bumps but less helpful for the redness. Some medications as well as intense pulsed light and laser treatments may help reduce the redness and flushing.
